Friends in Videris: Meet Laura

Laura has been a Videris muse since day one. We've always admired her playful energy and brilliant, and brave writing. A wearer of many hats, meet our friend, the fabulous Laura.

Tell us a little about yourself, where you're from, and what you do?

I'm Laura. I'm a writer, sometimes model and dancer. I love to cook and dance in my undies. I live in Melbourne.

When did you get into modelling and writing?

I've been writing stories since I was little. It's always been my creative outlet, the place I can truly be myself. I only recently realised it needed to be my career - have been doing it professionally now for three years. I've also been modelling on and off since I was 14, however I had a bit of a negative experience as a teen, always being pressured to be skinnier. Now, as a curvalicious 26-year-old, I find it amazing that I'm the most successful I've ever been.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully writing something moving. Preferably whilst on holiday on the Italian coast.

What drives you?

I'm driven by stories. I want to write them, live them and share them.

What are you most proud of?

I'm proud of emerging out the other side of covid as a stronger version of myself.

Which is your favourite Videris lingerie colour and why?

It's a tough choice between red and olive. Olive makes me feel comfortable and totally like natural self, and red makes me feel effortlessly sexy.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

Wake up around 8am, get dressed in a cute outfit and get coffee. Then I work from home, a cafe or the office. I basically just write all day! I love my job. Then I get changed after work and go to dance (I'm a ballroom and latin dancer) training. Maybe have a glass of wine on my way home if I'm not too tired. Watch a episode of something either super trashy or super emotional, drink a chamomile tea and sleeeep.

What makes a good friendship?

Trust. Great conversations. A mutual love of champagne. Always being there, for the fun times, the rough times and all the times in between.

What message would you give your younger self?

Trust yourself, you know where you're going.
